Helping families stay close to their child through a network of local Chapters. It’s something we see every day – children healing because they’re surrounded by their families. And while RMHC® may not be able to make the medicine taste better or erase the pain of a much-needed treatment, we have helped lessen the burden for nearly 5.7 million families in 2014. Since 1974, our network of local Chapters have been making children happier and healthier by keeping families together – giving them a place to rest and refresh. A place that feels like home. These programs, tailored to meet the urgent needs of each community, can now be found in more than 60 countries and regions across the globe.
No, RMHC® of Greater Houston/Galveston does not have a Ronald McDonald House as a program. We do have an affiliate relationship with the Ronald McDonald House Houston and Ronald McDonald House Galveston. This affiliation means the three of us all are a part of RMHC®, Inc., but we are each individual entities with different programs. RMHC® of Greater Houston/Galveston programs are really concentrated in the community finding and supporting programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children. See our services.
McDonald’s is our largest & longest corporate donor. They are strong partners in supporting RMHC® and have chosen Ronald McDonald House Charities® as their “charity of choice” for over 40 years. While all RMHC® chapters are part of the Ronald McDonald House Charities® system, each is operated at a local level by its own board. Members of the McDonald’s family serve as volunteers on the boards and committees of the local Chapters, working along with other members of the community.
Your donations make a difference in the lives of children through support of our four core programs, two Ronald McDonald Care Mobiles®, four Ronald McDonald® C.H.E.E.R.! Rooms, and high school scholarships. Additionally, a portion of our donations are awarded to the Ronald McDonald Houses in our area through quarterly grants.
